Live updates on the Israel-Iran conflict: Today, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar announced that he had a conversation about the West Asian situation with his Iranian counterpart, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian. Following Iran’s strike on Israel, the two presidents spoke over the phone. He also talked about the Saturday military seizure of a cargo ship by Iran and the subsequent release of its seventeen Indian crew men.
“I spoke with the FM of Iran this evening. facilitated the release of 17 MSC Aries crew men who were Indian. spoke about the state of affairs in the area at the time. emphasized the significance of remaining calm, avoiding escalation, and reverting back to diplomacy. Consented to stay in communication,” Mr. Jaishankar stated on X.

Iran significantly escalated the long-running secret war between the regional enemies late on Saturday by launching more than 300 drones and missiles toward Israel in an unprecedented strike.
According to the Israeli military, 99 percent of the launches were intercepted. A couple of the 110 ballistic missiles that were fired did manage to reach Israel, hurting 12 people, while 170 drones and 30 cruise missiles were shot down before they could reach Israel.
