Oliver Stone claims that Ryan Gosling is “wasting his time” on movies like “Barbie,” which he claims “falls asleep” while watching “John Wick.”

Oliver Stone has expressed a number of views regarding the state of the film industry, claiming that films like as Barbie are a part of the "infantilization of Hollywood."

The director proposed in a June 2023 interview that Ryan Gosling should have avoided the Greta Gerwig movie and instead concentrated on “more serious films.”

“If Ryan Gosling is doing that shit for money, then he’s wasting his time.” He ought to be directing more somber movies. He has no place in this Hollywood infantilization. In an interview with City AM, Oliver stated, “Now it’s all fantasy, fantasy, fantasy, including all the war pictures: fantasy, fantasy.”

Stone also made fun of the Fast and Furious movie franchise, claiming that while he used to like the flicks, they “have become like Marvel movies” nowadays. How many crashes, exactly, are you able to see?

In the same interview, Stone discussed his thoughts on the Keanu Reeves-starring franchise John Wick.

“I spent three hours and more watching John Wick on the plane. And during that, I think I fell asleep 778 times,” he disclosed. “Every morning I had to confront him killing more people. It seems as though logic has vanished from the world.

Chad Stahelski has directed the John Wick film series, and Shay Hatten and Michael Finch wrote the script for Chapter 4 of the upcoming feature in 2023.

Stone has won four Oscars, including two for Born on the Fourth of July: Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay for Midnight Express. Stone’s most recent production is a documentary called Nuclear Now, in which he argues that using nuclear energy is the best way to combat climate change.
