NEW DELHI: Due to floods at the busiest airport in the world, Dubai International Airport, heavy rains caused major disruptions to flights from India to Dubai. Many customers’ travel arrangements were impacted by the Wednesday service cancellations of Air India and IndiGo.
On Wednesday, nine planes arriving from Dubai and 10 aircraft departing from Dubai were canceled at Delhi airport.
“We are working hard to rebook impacted customers on flights in the next days in order to expedite their departure. A representative stated in a statement on Wednesday that “We are also offering passengers with valid tickets for April 16 and 17 a one-time date change waiver, allowing them to reschedule their flights to future dates within the validity of the tickets.”
There were additional problems with flights from other carriers to Dubai, including SpiceJet, Vistara, IndiGo, and Air India Express.
“Weather-related delays and diversions have affected flight traffic to the United Arab Emirates. Among those delayed on the 16th and 17th were three or four of our flights. We apologize for the inconvenience and have provided all affected passengers with the choice of a complete refund or a free reschedule,” an AI Express representative stated in a statement on Wednesday.
