According to the IMD, isolated heavy rainfall is expected in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan from June 30 to July 3.

According to the report, on Saturday the monsoon moved farther into the remaining portions of east Uttar Pradesh and certain regions of west Uttar Pradesh.

It further stated that during the next two to three days, the monsoon is expected to spread over additional regions of west Rajasthan, Haryana, Chandigarh, Punjab, and the remaining sections of west Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu.

The monsoon season brings about 650 mm of rain to Delhi on average. About one-third of the capital’s Monsoon rainfall fell on June 28, the first day of strong rains this season.

According to a PTI report, six rain-related deaths were reported on Saturday, bringing the total for the first two days since the arrival of the Monsoon to 11 deaths.

Authorities stated that preparations have been made to avoid flooding in the next days, when significant precipitation is anticipated. Delhi had its first day of monsoon on Friday, with 228.1 mm of rain, the most for the month of June in 88 years.

In the upcoming days, there is a good chance of isolated, heavy rainfall over Tamil Nadu, Kerala, southern Karnataka, and Konkan-Goa.

Over the next three days, areas of West Bengal, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura are likely to have mild to moderate rainfall along with thunderstorms and lightning.
