Delhi, New: The Congress stated on Tuesday that it has always maintained that such language has no place in public discourse and that the matter should finish with Ms. Shrinate clearing the air in the midst of the controversy surrounding provocative statements made against Kangana Ranaut on party leader Supriya Shrinate’s social media profile.
Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit stated at a news conference that Ms. Shrinate has previously indicated that the message was posted by someone with access to her account. Mr. Dikshit remarked, “She has said she will find out who did it.”

“Public discourse should not contain such terminology; the Congress has consistently said as much. Whoever did that, Supriya ji has stated that it was an error. He said, “She has explained, and that should be the end of the matter.

Once insulting comments against Ms. Ranaut and Mandi appeared on the social media accounts of the party’s leaders, Shrinate and H. S. Ahir, the Congress found itself in the firing line.

When the incident first surfaced on Monday, Congress spokesman Ms. Shrinate defended herself by claiming that a number of persons had access to her Facebook and Instagram accounts and that one of them had posted the offensive content. She said that she has removed the message and that a parody account using her identity will face consequences.
