The Ultimate Midrange 'Flagship Killer' to Beat: The iQoo Neo 9 Pro Review
Cost of the iQoo Neo 9 Pro in India
The 8GB+256GB RAM and storage version of the iQoo Neo 9 Pro costs Rs. 37,999, while the 12GB+256 model costs Rs. 39,999. On March 21, a third version with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage will be on sale for Rs. 35,999. A USB Type-C to Type-C connection, a 120W SuperVOOC charger, and a clear TPU cover are included in the package with the phone.
The phone comes in two color options: Fiery Red with a dual-tone vegan leather back material and Conqueror Black with an AG Glass Fiery Red finish. Both colorways are available on Amazon.com.
There is fierce rivalry among smartphone firms in India’s premium midrange market, so any device that launches below Rs. 40,000 must be a multitasking machine with a robust CPU, dependable cameras, and a sleek design. A smartphone featuring a 50-megapixel primary back camera and a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, the Neo 9 Pro, was just released by iQoo. OnePlus 12R, Samsung Galaxy A54, Nothing Phone 2, and Oppo Reno 11 Pro are the phones this one will fight with.
Review of the iQoo Neo 9 Pro: Design
The back panel of the iQoo Neo 9 Pro is either composed of glass or vegan leather, depending on the model you purchase. I examined the Fiery Red variant, which has 256GB of built-in storage and 12GB of RAM. This phone features a red-colored, flat AMOLED screen and a matte, fingerprint-resistant coating.
A hole punch cutout at the top of the screen houses a selfie camera that is positioned in the center. There is a small plastic scratch shield attached to the display already. A metallic ring encircles the camera glass of the vertical twin rear camera module, which is situated in the upper left corner of the rear.
The back panel has a slight give to it and is partially red and partially white. If you want to showcase the vibrant colors of your phone, you’re definitely better off with a clear cover because the light colors are more prone to attract smudges and stains over time. Even without the supplied TPU case, the phone doesn’t seem particularly slippery.
Review of the iQoo Neo 9 Pro: Features and software
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, Qualcomm’s flagship mobile chipset that debuted in late 2022, is combined with iQoo’s proprietary Q1 chip in the Neo 9 Pro. There is a 6.78-inch AMOLED screen on this phone. Up to 256GB of internal storage and up to 12GB of RAM are included with the phone. It has connectivity options for Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, 5G, 4G LTE, and GPS. A USB Type-C connection on the phone allows for charging and data transfers. The iQoo Neo 9 Pro lacks a headphone jack.
The Neo 9 Pro comes pre-installed with Funtouch OS 14, an Android 14-based operating system. This interface is identical to those of the company’s other smartphones, such as the iQoo 12, which was released in the previous year. The phone comes with four preloaded apps: PhonePe, Netflix, Spotify, Snapchat, and Facebook. According to iQoo, the phone will receive security upgrades for an extra year in addition to three years of OS updates.
