Rolling Meadows Police are investigating a man with a Gun Report at Algonquin Rd. and Route 53
Illinois State Police, Rolling Meadows police and Schaumburg police responded about 8:30 a.m. Thursday, January 11, 2024 to a complaint of a man with a pistol near Route 53 and Algonquin Road in Rolling Meadows. The former Stadium Sports Club and Pizza restaurant on the south side of Algonquin Road, west of Route 53, was the target of a man pedestrian who was on Algonquin Road and sprinted toward it, according to Rolling Meadows police. By 8:40 a.m., Rolling Meadows police had taken a suspect into custody.
In order to determine whether the white Model Tesla Y and its driver were related to the man with a pistol that was reported, police were also looking into the possibility that the car was driven in the southbound local lanes of Route 53 over Algonquin Road. The driver did not connect with the man with a gun report below; instead, he informed an Illinois State Police trooper that the Tesla had run over debris and that he was waiting for a tow. At 8:45 a.m., there were no notable traffic delays in the vicinity.
